FILM MAKERS: I am looking for indie films to score. Almost any type film. No slasher or porn. Fees negotiable. Orchestral/electronic style preferred. I can do everything in my home studio via MIDI, or if you want live players, and have the budget, I can write and produce the recording using any size ensemble. If you wish for me to fly in to meet with you for spotting, that is possible. As I compose, I send mp3s for you to put up against your picture. Then you email or call with notes. This procedure works great and allows me to live where I want.

6/19/03 Finished the score for the feature They're Watching You. 64 minutes worth. Awaiting final audio mix...

Next in the works: probably a new piece for the Langroise Trio, another string trio premiere for their upcoming season.

CLASSICAL
5/1/03 The Cello Concerto was a success! A standing ovation and positive feedback from everyone I spoke to afterwards. Bravo to Sam Smith, soloist, and the Boise Philharmonic musicians for their excellent playing. Now I'll focus on revising some of the score and more performances elsewhere.

3/20/03 The premiere of my Three Dances was great! Beautiful choreography by Carl Rowe of Idaho Dance Theater,. We packed the house on both Friday and Saturday nights. Saturday they ran out of room in the 400 seat Spec Center. Bravo to my musicians Steve Goff, soprano sax, Andrei Constantanescu, piano, and Lauren Colliander on percussion.

1970 Began teaching myself clarinet.

1972 Received first guitar for Christmas. Began teaching myself to play.

1973 Bought first bass guitar. Began teaching myself to play. Performed on bass with my dads gospel quartet.

1974 Wrote my earliest composition, Spanish Guitar for classical guitar.

1976 Took music theory course while sophomore in high school. Joined first rock band.

1977 Played first rock club gig.

1980 Moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Performed in several bands. Wrote several songs for bands.

1981-2 Discovered Beethovens sixth symphony in roommates record collection. Bought study score. Orchestrated rock songs for orchestra. Moved back to Idaho. Continued self-study of classical scores while working at computer chip factory.

1983 Accepted to Wheaton College Conservatory, Wheaton, Illinois. Began piano lessons. Wrote first string quartet.

1984 Began study at Wheaton College. Composed various student pieces.

1987 Wrote All You Servants Praise the Lord for Grace Baptist church Meriden, CT, first commission and public performance.

1988 Moved back to Idaho after completing 2 years at conservatory and counterpoint classes. MIDI makes synthesizer composing accessible for home recording. Wrote Rhythminium for Vallivue High School Concert Band. Assembled synthesizer music compilation The Initial Album on cassette. Played in various rock bands.

1989 Moved back to Wheaton to finish college degree. Composed numerous synthesizer pieces.

1991 Graduated from conservatory. Senior recital consisted of Three Improvisations for synthesizer, Bag O Tails for piano, Andante (conducted) and Street Attack (conducted) for string orchestra, Life is Fine (conducted) for soprano and ensemble, Quartet for Soprano Sax, English Horn, Cello, and Piano, and Kuwait 1990 91 for wind ensemble. On returning to Idaho, composed instrumental album Phases of the Mood.

1992 Attended first recital by the Langroise Trio. Met players backstage. Started composing String Trio No. 1 the next day.

1993 Wrote Serenade for Strings for brothers wedding. Performed in country rock band Redstone for 3 years.

1994 Premiere of Scherzando from String Trio No. 1 by the Langroise Trio.

1995 Premiere of complete String Trio No. 1 by the Langroise Trio and Serenade for Strings by community orchestra.

1996 Wrote Company Tour. Completed new album of instrumental synthesizer music Visit the Blue Planet. Released on CD.

1997 Premiere of Company Tour by the Langroise Trio. Wrote String Trio No. 2 and Sonatina for Strings.

1998 Premiere of String Trio No. 2 by the Langroise Trio and Sonatina for Strings by the Suzuki Institute Strings (conducted). Composed new instrumental album A Call for Rain. Score for animation The Smell of Horror shown at SIGGRAPHs Electronic Theater in Orlando, FL.

1999 Wrote String Trio No. 3 and The Avon Lady Meets Frumpy the House Cat.

2000 Premiere of the String Trio No. 3 by the Langroise Trio at Hengst Gallery, Seattle, WA. The Langroise Trio performed Trio No. 2 II on the Kennedy Center Millenium Stage, Washington DC. Idaho Dance Theater choreographed trio music for performance in Riptide choreographed by Carl Rowe. Premiere of The Avon Lady Meets Frumpy the House Cat by the Albertson College Concert Band. Began job with North By Northwest Productions in August.

2001 Wrote When Foxes Meet in Moonlight. Premiered in February by the Darkwood Consort. The Langroise Trio performed Trio No. 3 II on the Kennedy Center Millenium Stage, Washington DC. Composed electronic dance, acid jazz album aSKeW. Started writing the Cello Concerto.

2002 Composed 11 minutes of score for feature Whacked. Finished the Cello Concerto. Wrote Three Dances for Idaho Dance Theater.

2003 Premiere of Three Dances in January and the Cello Concerto(conducted the Boise Philharmonic), with Sam Smith as soloist, in April. Composed 64 minute score for thriller feature Theyre Watching You. Started composing Trio No. 4.

	The big climactic cue from They're Watching You. Randall (the crazy patient)returns and threatens Caroline (the psychiatrist). Lots of dialog, then she escapes to the hall. Randall puts a gun to her head, more dialog. He gives the gun to her. A guy comes up behind Caroline and she shoots him, then eventually shoots Randall. Big brass tritones at the end as Caroline collapses against the wall, obviously under a great deal of stress. :-)

	Final cue for "They're Watching You." Opens with a dream Caroline is having. You think it's real, but actually she is explaining the dream to her psychiatrist. (Caroline is one of the main characters, a psychiatrist, who had been treating Randall, the crazy patient. After shooting Randall in the climax, she now exhibits the same symptoms as Randall.) The dream is blood dripping down her head onto a piece of paper. Cuts to her sitting, talking to her psychiatrist. Dialog, blah, blah, about how she thinks "they're" watching her now. She leaves. Cut to her psychiatrist dictating voice notes into a mini cassette. (bass pizz). Her psychiatrist is coming to the same diagnosis as Caroline did with Randall. (Which didn't work out too well.) blah, blah, cut to Caroline walking down the street. She bumps into someone passing her on the street. She turns and it is Randall who she thought she had shot dead. She freaks and starts running. Fade to black into end credits (Main Title theme, tutti orch.). Scroll starts when music changes to tremelos and boy soprano. Little crazy waltz theme (used earlier in show) to end it.
