	Story Behind the Song String Trio No. 2 I started composing my String Trio No. 2 after the premiere of the String Trio No. 1 in 1996. The first trio was received with enthusiasm by players and audience alike so I thought I would have a go at a second one, with the hopes of composing a third for a matched set. II - Reminiscing The second movement was suggested by cellist Sam Smith. I had given Sam a copy of my CD Visit The Blue Planet and he mentioned to me that he thought one of the cuts on the album, entitled Reminiscing, would work transcribed for string trio. The movement is through-composed and is written around a keyboard improvisation.
