A progressive exploration of the human condition, sounding even more Rush-like with guest vocalist Scott Freeman, and a snake charming bass solo! (And let us not forget Dave's drumming..done in two takes after having not played for 3 months!) |

Mix 2.The vocals are more balanced, and some guitar harmonies were added in a couple of spots, and the bottom end drops out in places. We'll get it right yet! |

The cursed "song for girlfriend's birthday" song written and recorded way back in '96 (she dumped me 8 hours later). And recently re-recorded (see song story).Ah well..at least I got a song out of it that-ironically-girls seem to like a lot.The vocals in this mix are more balanced than before, and the beautiful tone of the classical guitar that Dave loaned me for the recording is allowed to come through ,especialy if you can listen in hi-fi,as the vocals still smother the guitar a little in the lo-fi stream).

The final mix is here!!Now with (by Dave's estimation) 4 BILLION VOCAL OVERDUBS!!This was written immediatly after Sept.11,and finally mixed down on March 15,2002!(Studio time cost money 'n' stuff!) By the way, there are only about 48 vocal overdubs scattered throughout.(Dave's estimate was slightly exaggerated) |

I wasn't really sure HOW to classify this one. I wrote it on guitar and eventually thought "Hey, this might sound neat as an ochestral piece". but I can't afford an orchestra,so these synthesised simulations of ochestral instruments have to make do. It's just a musicl experiment. |

ABSOLUTELY THE MOST FUN WE'VE EVER HAD IN THE STUDIO!!We really had no idea
where to place this, so we chose pop.I just wanted to write a fun, light-hearted tune. Voila! This also marks the recorded debuts of my Les Paul,J-station and 5 string bass, and Dave's piccolo snare.

This was originally written for a friend who was killed in a car wreck. Many people think it would aslo be a fitting tribute to those lost on 9/11,and I guess it could be both,as I think he would agree had he been with us to witness the atrocity. |

Don't let the title fool you!! This is an agressive, complex, angry piece dedicated to disgruntled employees everywhere!
If Geddy Lee played bass for Metallica around the "...and Justice for All" period,We think it might have sounded a bit like this raging melting pot of influences. |

I just played the same thing a few times. It turned out that I played consistantly enough that with a couple of minutes of editing, two takes were able to sync up.(It wasn't even my intention to double it!) |

An obvious Metallica influence can be heard. At the time, we thought this was a complex piece. Little did either of us know "Have a Nice Day" was in the future. |

A slightly metal tinged tune insipered by the movie "Punchline"...Serious Rush fans will recognize the outro (and will understand it was done in fun and admiration, NOT to rip them off!) |

This is about as straight-forward as I get.I even manage to stay mostly-but not entirely in 4/4! Notice that I just can't seem to keep those guitar solos slowed down for very long! |

Okay, we admit, the bass line-though really good-sounds maybe a bit TOO MUCH like Rush, and is maybe a bit much for the song. You've got to admit, it's still some cool bass playing. |

Kind of a jazzy/country/pop cross over, with the elements mixed up just enough to keep it from truly being either one.(There are even measures in 4/4!) |
