Don't let the title fool you!! This is an agressive, complex, angry piece dedicated to disgruntled employees everywhere! If Geddy Lee played bass for Metallica around the "...and Justice for All" period,We think it might have sounded a bit like this raging melting pot of influences.
Credits: Lyrics and Music by Scott Mapes(with some really cool suggestions from Dave).....Scott Mapes:Guitars,Basses,Vocals... David Bell:Drums and Cymbals... John Gillispie:Keyboards.Producedby John Gillispie

    Story Behind the Song
This was inspired by an imcompetent,back-stabbing manager at...someplace I used to work..It was originally titled "Eloquent Venom" as it's a VERY angry song, but I don't resort to vulgarities. We practiced this song with just bass and drums for 2 years before going into the studio. Not only did it push Dave as a drummer,Dave pushed me right back and my bass playing reached another level entirely. The bass and drums on this track are the second live take,Straight through,no edits,or punch-ins. We both though we were blowing it while playing. When we listened back..it was "WOW! Take 2 is it!"Everything else, obviously,is overdubbed. We even had it divided into sections to make explaining stuff at practice easier. The intro; The Rush "Dreamline"section,The Judas Priest section, the drum fill, the Psuedo Chorus, the Megadeth section, the Paul McCartney section, the "Insane Maniac Computer Going Out Of Control"section, the Steve Harris, section, the Iron Maiden on amphetimines sectionand the outro. If you can pinpoint each one, we shall be duly impressed!

    Lyrics
    Have a Nice Day...(Always)

You shake my hand and smile
as you stab me in the back
Twist the knife between my ribs
    like I don't notice that

You rub the salt into my wounds
and tell me not to scream
The bitter bile burns in my mouth
    and fuels my hostility

Love the people, hate the job
    yin and yang-opposing force
You wouldn't know the truth in front of you
    you conniving corporate whore

    Depressive demeaning task
    undermining our esteem
Blank stares of the walking dead
cut and bled by corporate greed

    Imminent synaptic shutdown
    thought process losing control
    Rage broiling beneath my skin
    Tedious toil takes its toll

    Euphemistic language contorted
in vain attempts to conceal the truth
I can hear the subtext unspoken
    and it's exposing you

    Drowning in deception
    one lie at a time
Remind me again how lucky I am
    it always slips my mind

    Going through the motions
    Triggering emotions
    of frustration, angst and spite
    Repetitive monotony
    Monopolizing me
taking the time to take away my time

We aren't the mindless driveling drones
that you'd love for us to be
We have our own lives away from here
    so screw the company!!!
