Based loosely around the story of Krishna and the Gopi girls and the multi-cultural Britain of today. A call for an end to racism and for a sharing of pleasures, like music, that are common to all cultures. I was hoping to get a sitar for this but failed but discovered an interesting open-tuning chord pattern and some inventive whistle playing instead. |

It needed saying. A semi-humorous rant against the catering fiasco at the Manic Millennium, which the band and publicity had promoted as "the biggest pub" with beer prices kept at "normal". This wasn't the case at all as the press bore witness to afterwards! |

A wacky and weird ditty inspired by a schizophrenic friend's habit of repeating this phrase. I was stoned when I came up with the idea, which is maybe evident from the lyrics! It went down very well with festival crowds and started a cult-following, which at the time I couldn't understand. I realised later that it is a piece of entertainment and as an entertainer I should do my duty of entertaining! It got recorded by popular demand and also ended up in C.J Stone's books 'Fierce Dancing'and 'Last of the Hippies' as well as in his column for The Guardian. Has been described as "an underground anthem" by Mick Magic, who runs M&E tape label. Gruff Rhys of the Super Furries bought it on a limited edition EP called MASK on the German Pink Lemon label. It is currently on a Various Artists CD comp. on Bridge Records: 'Take it to the Bridge Volume 3'. |
