    Story Behind the Song
    Steve Andrews the Bard of Ely met up with The Somethings at a gig he was playing in the West End Centre, Aldershot in Jan 2002. He had written a song inspired by the forthcoming Jubilee and in tribute to the Sex Pistols and the original punk rock movement. The lyric also name-drops David Icke in relation to his 'reptile conspiracy theory.' The Somethings offered to back Steve and so it was decided that they would all collaborate on a recording of the song. It was recorded at Raven Studios in Camberley. alex.cable@tesco.net

    Lyrics
    The Queen's a reptile;
    David Icke says so,
    So maybe the Pistols got it right;
    Maybe they were fighting the good fight?

    It's the year two on twenty twenty zero
    And Johnny Rotten's still my hero.
    It's the year two on twenty twenty zero
    And Johnny Rotten's still my hero.

    That she's not human,
    Is something Johnny said;
    Diana called the family "lizards,"
    Is something that I've read.

    It's the year two on twenty twenty zero
    And Johnny Rotten's still my hero.
    It's the year two on twenty twenty zero
    And Johnny Rotten's still my hero.

    The Pistols got to Number One
    But from the charts they were deleted,
    So much for freedom and democracy
    But punk won't be defeated.

    It's the year two on twenty twenty zero
    And Johnny Rotten's still my hero.
    We're The Somethings
    And we've got it all planned;
    We don't care if we get banned,
    We don't care if we get banned.
