Story Behind the Song
Written in a few minutes in my living room on receipt of a letter saying how good my songs were "but not coomercial enough for the label." I thought I would write a commercial pop song and did. Woody Woodmansey (remember him from the Spiders from Mars) told me he reckoned it was "Number One material" when I met him at a London gig. It was a one-take with a rehearsed band.
Lyrics
You're so wild, you're not tame,
I'll be your Tarzan, be my Jane.
I'm feeling strong, you're so sweet,
The drums are pounding out a strong heartbeat.
Chorus:
Jungle love, primitive and way down deep,
Jungle love, so exciting you just can't sleep.
I-O-I-YI-YI-YI-YI-YI-YI-A
I'll be your lion, be my lioness,
I dig to see you in your leopardskin dress,
I'm going crazy, I'm going ape,
I'm coming for you, you can't escape.
Chorus:
Jungle love etc
So share it with me wild and warm,
This love is just like a tropical storm,
The drums are beating from another time,
They're saying, baby, you gotta be mine.
Repeat chorus:
