This tune, kind of reminiscent of an updated "Afro Blue", features a guest appearance by Jeff Porter (aka "Delirium Tremens" from Acid Planet on bass guitar. I'm playing upright on this (you might say the rhythm bass role), while Jeff takes some extended solos - 80 bars to be exact. Loads of soft synths here, with both natural and (heavily) altered sounds. |

Something of an excercise of trying something new. If nothing else this is very hypnotic. |

This is a mostly accoustic honkey tonk tune. lots of guitars, some piano and a lot of stomping. A unique mix of 50's country, punk, and accoust-ified Texas swing. On this version the accoustic guitars are brought more to the front and the piano moved back |

Kind of a 50'sish ballad, but I guess it could fit in Contemporary Country. Let's see. |

For the last three or four years I'd been thinking of putting together a Reggae version of "Ring Of Fire", and it's finally here, as a tribute to both Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, one of the songs composers. If I'm not mistaken, there have been other Reggae versions (Bob Weir??, but I haven't heard any of them. This is basic with just guitar, bass, drums and some minimalist keys. |

Hey, a song (ha ha) about spam, in this case not a Hormel meat product, but the email variety. As a postscript, I'm sure there are thousands of honest Nigerians out there, but I never seem to recieve any email from them. |

Kind of an extension of the Johnny B. Goode tradition. Not rockabilly, since there's a lot of 60's and 70's influence, kind of like "Moondog Matinee" from the band. Most of the guitar parts were recorded on a Gibson L-7, which I've had since 1969. It's still older than me. This (once again) dates to 1986. The song was re-recorded and remixed countless times this fall. The guitar solo is by "Steev" Schreiber. I first came across him by following the noise from a Marshall played in a second floor apartment in 1973. |

This is something of a black and white sketch of an old-timey sounding tune with something of a Cajun flair. One voice and a couple of guitars with nothing fancy. |

60's Stax Volt Style,Short and Sweet. This is a much improved mix of the original, and also a new genre. Hopefully this time it won't wind up linked to some else's stuff! |

A kind of brand new old song from 1988. Something of an early to mid 60's sound with lots of pianos. Very simple, very short and lots of fun. |

Yes, yet another. More of a 50's sound than typically heard. Maybe if I spell it right more people will listen |

I'm moving this over from Blues. A little jive, a little upright, a little strange. Late 40's to Mid 50's bebop influenced blues, kind of like Walter Brown mixed with other influences - Upright bass and Gibson L-7 on this. Oh and yes, I apologize for the drums, but I think the bass groove on this makes up for it. |

This is a medium tempo piece with classical guitar(s), an upright bass. The drums are loop based, but sound half decent. There are extended guitar and bass solos. |

Another with a basic combination of two classical guitars, upright bass and vocals, a very basic drum loop. I raised the action on the upright, and as a result the sound is a bit cleaner. |

This is a bare bones version, with classical guitar, upright bass, very basic drums and vocals. There's a bass solo on the bridge. I re-recorded the guitar over a month ago, and I thought I had updated the version here but I hadn't. If you're familiar with Davey Graham, it sounds a little like some of the things he's done, and it has a much better mesh with the bass and a cleaner sound. |

Powerful Samba flavored song based on a character created by master SF and Fanatasy author C.J. Cherryh in the 80's "Thieves' World" series (created and edited by Robert Asprin). The song was written 17 years ago, and I think I've finally hit it right. |
