This is a mostly accoustic honkey tonk tune. lots of guitars, some piano and a lot of stomping. A unique mix of 50's country, punk, and accoust-ified Texas swing. On this version the accoustic guitars are brought more to the front and the piano moved back |

Story Behind the Song
The idea for this song goes back to something that happened when I was living in Houlton, Me. back in 1973. At the time I was playing in a bar which was the result of a loophole. The ordinance stated that any class a restaurant could sell beer. A guy who owned a grocery store bought a diner, and moved it up the street to the side of the grocery store. Voila! Instant restaurant and bar, all about 1 mile from the Canadian border. This was an interesting gig to say the least. The original concept for the song was too radical, to say the least, but the tune was knocking around in my head all of those years. Finally, about two weeks ago it all came together. BTW, if you're interested in what the original concept was, email me and I'll let you know.
