Hindsight is definitely 20/20, and this song
speaks of crying out for help to one, of whom
I must say, I can't live "Without You". Simple
acoustic guitars with a haunting melody reminiscent
of Sarah McLachlan. |

Especially in this day and age it seems that people aren't willing to go against the crowd and help someone out if it will bring them ridicule. "Cultural suicide to care / When someone's fallen into the middle of the street / With everyone watching / Do you help them to their feet?" Great Sax work by a fellow OSUMBer Aaron Barnes! |

Another in my list of unplugged efforts. I think this one really stands well by itself with just guitar and vocal. I sang it live in the studio so hopefully it catches more of the live sound. It's a great waltz for those who like to dance! |

Another one-take, acoustic version for those who liked "I'm Not That Strong". The song talks of letting go of the heavy guilt we carry around. Based on Romans 8:1. A full-band version will be on the next album. |

This song didn't make it on the "Don't Look Back" CD project, but should be coming out on a new CD hopefully this summer. Song has some great sax licks and the great BGVs of Lynda Morrison. Driven by my typical DMBesque acoustic guitar rhythms. |

This is the title track from the new Christmas CD and is an original carol that combines my Dave Matthews influence with a touch of Loreena McKennit. The song is another exploration of DADGAD tuning for me, with the flute part adding to the mood and tone of the piece. |

This is a new version of the classic. The melody is close to the original with a bit of a Loreena McKennit flair. I added a bridge that summarizes the story in the song, and this has been one of the favorites so far of my new Christmas collection. |

This is the 174th song I've written. I never did come up with a good title for it, so #174 just kind of stuck. This is a song about being careful what you ask for in life, because sometimes it's not all that it was cracked up to be. "Please be careful what you wish for in this life... cause you might just get it!" This version was recorded live at Waterworks Park in Vancouver, Washington at a concert, so there's some crowd noise in the recording. This is one of the new tracks slated for the new "Undertow" CD. |

Here is another live track from the concert at Waterworks Park in Washington. This song is also available on the "Sackcloth Charms" CD. It starts out with me giving a little intro into the song, but trust me the song is there! It's not the best recording with kids making noise in the background, but hey, it was an outdoor concert at a park. |

Haunting melody that switches from 11/8 to 3/4 time, as the lyrics speak of finding that without love we aren't strong enough on our own. This is one-take, one-guitar, one-voice, with some nice effects to fill out the acoustic guitar and vocals. For L. |

Ever have a friend who suddenly starts acting like they never knew you?
"...So what's with this red scarf I've found in your pocket? Could it be the piece of me that bled away when you left?"
Guitar and vocals ala DMB, transition between fingerpicked and driving rhythm carries the song through the emotional changes in the lyrics. |

First song I wrote when I moved away to college.
"Sitting alone up in my empty room..." wondering if
"God will hear my cry". This is a song for all of us
who may feel alone, away from home, orphaned. It holds
a message of hope that we will "never be alone". |
