In the most unique, christian Hip Hop track, Chase Nafta makes himself heard, proving himself to be a talented MC and calling the names of those looking for FRESH talent. Chase displays his faith in Christ, but also voices his stress about society as a whole and the world around him. His debut EP contains a clean Freestyle ability as he improvisingly spits his way through the entire third verse of his first song on the disc! So far he has left us with a fine impression of what he may be capable of. Might want to stay tuned to this out of no-where new artist. Download this Hotness! |

Can't nobody sing the Blues is the second song on the Damascus ep entitled When I Survey. This track has some addictive lyrics as well as some of their best flava on the disc. Fans of the West Coast style of rap will be bobbin their heads to the gospel with this christian lyricist whether they like it or not. The tune is made complete with David Filer's vivid diplay of talent. David would have to describe for himself, the complex puzzle of catchy tunes we call Damascus. On this track, David gets the vocal lounge award. |

When I Survey is the third and final track on Damascus' new EP. Surprisingly they've mixed together ancient hymns of the 1800's into an amazing, poetic, hip-hop sound, drawing the 30-50 year old elderly fans into the mix. Watch out! You might find your grandfather hiding in his room, bobbing his head as Chase Nafta addresses his savior in this HARD HITTING rap of reverence!?! When I Survey's chorus is derived from the old hymn song "Oh Blessed Lord", and contains some of the most sentimental christian rap I have ever layed ears on. This track also shows their talents vocally and might as well be considered a worship song... with rap in it. |
