CT Apple
music with a wicked vibe
CT Apple's "...the road" is a wickedly mellow juxtaposition of wild beats, acoustic bass, and hauntingly familiar vocals which sits neatly on the cutting edge of the chill music scene.
Having the benefit of a really unpredictable vibe, "...the road" can seem to fit into a easy funk groove while managing to create an uncontrollable urge to get up and move to its funky drum n bass rhythms.
This album is a stirringly mellow future funk rendition of both old tunes and original songs that allows for mind slipping relaxation and mind bending movement!
It's addictive and the more you listen, THE MORE YOU NEED TO LISTEN!
About the Artist:
CT Apple has performed in a wide variety of jazz elements and currently performs with a traditionally based jazz group which plays many of the same tunes found on this album in addition to a variety of Latin jazz. CT has had experience in all types of music -- from jazz to pop -- and has brought that experience to this album. Recorded at The Living Vibe Studio in London, "The Road" is a tribute to CT's father who passed away in 1998. This album retraces the songs his dad performed during his life as a club performer in the United States. CT's ultimate goal was to pay homage to the classic tunes without sacrificing the elements that make them great while still maintaining a strong contemporary future-funk vibe.
Performers:
CT Apple -- Lead vocals/Keys
Tony Robinson -- Rhodes/Strings
John Thompson -- Wicked Acoustic Bass
AM Johnson -- Percussion/Keys/Synthesizer

This tune was written in 1973 by
Theresa Apple and was an instant
folk/rock hit in the underground indie
world. For 'The Road,' artist CT Apple
revamped the melody into a more future
funk/jazz vibe which evokes the same
emotional turmoil as the original, but
has a distinct contemporary sound. | MP3.com CD: "The Road" Original Tunes - buy it!
