NEWS: 07/14/03: "ASBESTOS THERE IS...ASBESTOS THERE WAS...ASBESTOS THERE EVER WILL BE"
THE ASBESTOS CONCERN
HAPPY BASTILLE DAY! Yes, friends, once again it is time to commemorate the glorious actions of a bunch of Frenchmen in 1789, and I'm sure you all know what that means: new Asbestos Concern songs! Our recording schedule seems to be inextricably tied to the French national holiday, as once again we find ourselves sitting here on July 14 with new aural stimulation to offer you. We all got together for a grueling seven hour recording session yesterday and emerged with a new full band arrangement of "Edge of the Universe". Since we're not Platinum or Gold mp3.com members, you can expect to hear it sometime in the fall. In other Asbestos news, since our last rather silly update at Christmas, we have gained a new member. Following through on Richard's long-standing threat to recruit one of our fans to fill the vacant bass position, we have enlisted the services of Jowen Yeo, whom at one point we were considering naming the band after. We have also started work on a song-cycle inspired by the classic Sierra game "Jones in the Fast Lane", the first installment of which may be our next recording. Or not. We really don't think that far in advance. At any rate, our plans for the summer are to redo some of the better old songs and maybe get around to some new stuff as well. And on that note, we will leave you to celebrate the 214th anniversary of all that crazy Bastille-stormin' action. Cheers.
