Welcome to the
"Virtual Opera Company".
This Virtual Opera Company (VOC) project is a collaboration of artists on MP3.COM.
It brings together real singers and synthesized orchestra accompaniment,
done on a computer.
The first recording was from Puccini's opera "Tosca" the Love Duet
"Mario, Mario, Mario - Son qui", which was available here on
this site on June 22, 2000. The singers were the soprano
Louisiane Philip
(Monaco) and the tenor
George
Everett Swails, the orchestral accompaniment was created by
Reinhold Behringer and his
Virtual Philharmonic Orchestra. These artist created another
recording of an opera duet by Puccini, from his opera "La Boheme" the
duet "O soave fanciulla".
More artists joined VOC:
David
Stifel provided an orchestration of Mascagni's Prelude to "Cavalleria Rusticana",
and David
Solomons gave his voice to the first Christmas song recording of VOC.
