Artist description
The Basement consists of five emcees (Haft, Trunks the Hypnotic, Sohrab the Skeptic Dreamer, Mister Milin, and Iron Sheik), a turntablist (DJ Hecktik), and a producer extraordinaire (Markis Precise). All have a love for what hip-hop is supposed to be, and the ability to make it reality is the foundation of The Basement. |

Artist History
Although The Basement was formed about five years ago, the experience of some members spans back to the late 80's. Their first LP, The Lost Book, was released in the summer of 1999, and has done exceptionally well on the underground market. As usual in the realm of The Basement, ignorance cannot reside as they attack many political, social, and conscious issues through the use of an art that they refer to as "Odd Talk." The Lost Book covered mankind's love for money, hip-hop's ignorance, universal law and balance, stargazing, and many other topics. The follow-up to their debut is expected to be released in early December 2000, and as usual we can expect them to hit the hearts of the conscious, and awaken the minds of the lost. |
