Artist description "Dismantled was formed in late 2000 by sole member Gary Zon when an experimental attempt to create something similar to the sound of Front Line Assembly became highly successful when introduced to various entities on the Internet. With overwhelming positive feedback, Dismantled began to explore with the sound further while adding vocals. The result was a unique blend of very melodic yet complex and layered electro-industrial combined with elements of trance. Dark, brooding, and futuristic, Dismantled's sound attracted many online listeners, who had suprisingly good feedback on the sound while comparing it to Front Line Assembly and Haujobb. In March 2001, Dismantled released its first demo cd titled "Demo Variation" through MP3.com to send to labels and radio stations and launched its official website Dismantled.org. Four months later, the demo caught the attention of Stefan Herwig from Dependent Records who later released the track "Purity" on the popular "Septic II" compilation among such high profile bands as Front Line Assembly, VNV Nation, and Apoptygma Bezerk. In late October 2001, the demo caught the attention of Metropolis Records and by then, Dismantled had completed work on the debut album with the help of Dmitri of FrameFreeze.net who provided digital photography for the album artwork. The year 2002 saw the release of "Survivor" on Dystopian Records compilation Resist The Command 2 and the winning of the Wumpscut Wreath of Barbs Remix Contest as Dismantled secured a release on Metropolis Records and added live members for future show opportunities.
