Artist description
All hail the musical proletariats! To hell with the VH-1, TRL, Billboard top 40 crap-a-thon that passes for good music. Away with dull & tedious corporate rock. We believe the good music is made in anonymous makeshift studios in bedrooms and garages, using whatever equipment is at hand. Bold and brave sounds for these quietly desperate times. These people are our heroes. |

Artist History
Soon after exiting the womb, the Avant Gardeners hatched a perfect plan for world domination, but lacking the muscular coordination and intellectual power necessary to carry out this plan, they just stuck to breast feeding for awhile. Later, using only the most basic of elements to form their musical vocabulary, they slowly began to realize that the only criterion for music to be good, to be real, was for it to come from the inside. Ceasing to look toward others to fufill their musical destiny, the Avant Gardeners began to make music that was at once both predatory and engaging. We believe God smiles down on us. |

MP3.COM E-MAILS & REVIEWS - THANKS**************************************************************** "A Death in Vegas-inspired jaunt through a wide range of musical styles from Blues Rock to Big Beat. Basic Downtempo structures layered with thick synths, insightful electronic effects and thoughtful vocals." Listen.com review ********************************************************************* "This is some real good music, I make "bedroom lo-fi' music on my sp808 I hope someday to have some ideas of my own half as good as this stuff...I'm into the butthole surfers also.. very good work guys.. peace." Shawn - Nova Scotia******************************************************************* "I checked out your songs...nice going...cool stuff. Heh you'll like this! a co-worked just told me to turn it back up! so they like your songs too."Brad - Austin, TX***********************************************************"Would've put them up for the name alone but you have to have minimal shapeupedness for a good station...surprise! Islamic Girl is a fine road Residents piece..."Slack Station review***************************************************************"Well, the Gardeners rock. No two ways about it, they write, and produce intelligent electronica. Not watered-down-for-the-masses-tripe, that the radio stations TELL you what you will be hearing incessantly for the next year. They write true music, from the heart. And it shows. . ."Chaz - Critic's Corner message board review |
