Artist History
The Northwest Bookfest tapes were recorded at the Northwest Bookfest in Seattle, Washington on November 13, 1999. The panel, made up of from four of the best writers and game designers in the computer gaming industry, discussed several issues ranging from breaking into writing for the industry to the future of computer games. NEAL HALLFORD has been the writer and designer behind a number of bestselling computer games like Betrayal at Krondor, Return to Krondor, Planet's Edge, and many more. GEOFF KEIGHLEY (moderator) editor of GameSlice, has covered the interactive entertainment industry for eight years. He is also the editor of GameSpot's "Behind the Games" feature stories. JANE JENSEN is a programmer, game designer, and novelist. She's been with Sierra Online for ten years and designed Ecoquest: Search for Cetus, King's Quest VI, as well as the interactive Gabriel Knight mystery series. MARC LAIDLAW has published six novels includingDad's Nuke, Kalifornia, and The 37th Mandala before taking on the job of writer for the ground-breaking action game, Half-Life.LORELEI SHANNON is a writer, sculptor, and computer-game designer. Her game credits include Pepper's Adventures in Time, King's Quest VII, and Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh. Recently Lorelei has had short stories featured in the Goth magazine Carpe Noctem, and in the spring of 2000 her work will be featured in the NEW BLOOD and PROM NIGHTanthologies. |
