The audio excerpts you will find below were all recorded on November 13, 1999
at the Northwest Bookfest in Seattle, Washington. These clips were taken from a
panel which was titled "Opportunities in Computer Gaming: the Rebirth
of the Book". Moderated by Geoff Keighley, editor of Game
Slice.com, the panel featured four of the most talented writers currently
working in the computer gaming industry. Neal
Hallford has worked with several different game companies including New
World Computing, Dynamix, and Westwood Studios, and was the writer on bestselling
games like "Betrayal at Krondor", "Planet's Edge", and the
upcoming Cavedog Entertainment title, "Amen: the Awakening". Jane Jensen
is a writer for Sierra Online, and has been the creative driving force behind
their hit Gabriel Knight
series, as well as the recent novel, Millennium Rising. Marc Laidlaw is also a
novelist, and is Valve Software's secret weapon behind their highly addictive
Half-Life series.
Lorelei Shannon,
a writer and sculptor, has written for Sierra Online for a number of years, and
her talents were featured in games like King's Quest VII and Phantasmagoria: A
Puzzle of Flesh.
