Artist History
Members Ian Christensen (basses) and David Holton (guitars, keyboards, and vocals) originally met as friends in school with common influences in music and a desire to play it together. Forming a small group entitled Vixen Red, the two and two other mates spent their afternoons practicing a variety of covers from bands such as U2, The Church, INXS, and The Cure. The group later disbanded to be reformed later under the name Euthanasia with members Ian and David assist by a drum machine aptly titled “the Cookie Monster” for it’s tendency to “eat and destroy any songs we programmed into it”. While the group did not persist, the desire to try again, as well as several songs written during that period, reformed later in 1994 with member Jaysun Staves (guitars) completing the fold for the lineup of Ashengrace. Sharing their common interestes and music influences such as the Cocteau Twins, Clan of Xymox, Lycia, Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd, and The Cure, the three began recording and performing live at a number of venues in the southwestern United States. |
