Artist description
Melody driven, high energy, rock n roll would be an accurate description of this foursome from the banks of the Ohio River. Blasting through the south like the Roman army they helped redesign what is considered “cool” in rock n roll. Pygmie tunes don't require a philosophy degree to enjoy, or a depressed view on life to understand. They cling to what rock and roll is really all about... Play music that makes you feel good, turn up the volume, and let go. “We call it socially unconscious rock and roll”, claims Cameron Flener the bands front man. They are the anti-Radiohead. The good time yin to Travis' yang. Their slogans are more along the lines of “No Whining, No Political Crap, No Baggy Pants”, than “Why does it always rain on me?” Fans by the 1000s have opened their ears to the Pygmie sound and helped create one of the largest and most loyal fan bases of any unsigned band.
The Velcro Pygmies have always been about being larger then life. Big lights, big PA, big sound. They didn't invent the concept but they have rediscovered it and are bringing showmanship back to the rock n roll stage. As the music scene moves closer to the point of unity gain which is to say that all the artists sound exactly alike The Velcro Pygmies are poised to be in a class by themselves. |
