    Artist History
Mr Pink was conceived in sin in the teeming musical metropolis that is Harrisonburg, Virginia. He was born to a morphine doped up mother in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Confused by the dope and dazed by the hazing North Carolina sun, Mama Pink dissappeared into the Atlantic, never to be seen again. Baby Pink was left in the questionable care of his new "family." Papa Scot tried his hardest to give Little Pink a decent upbringing and played him heavy metal lullabies everynight before he tucked him in. Pickin' Mama Penny weened him from a bottle and started him on The Bottle. Brotha Erich gave him his beatin's, Brotha Kevin rattled his baby molars with his funky thump and his brat Sista Leona did nothing but scream in his little ears. Never the less Mr Pink grew up, moved to Richmond and turned out to be the biggest, strongest, drunkest, no job-havin' bitch on his block. He lived happily ever after. The End.

    Press Reviews
"If Patti Smith had sung with the Candy Snatchers, but nobody got hurt in the end, you might come close to fRONTIERMAN. It's hard to take such a freeballin' live band and squeeze them into a CD, but S.O.M. enginer/coproducer Mike "Keno" Snyder manages to keep the boys and girls rockin'. Standouts include the Oregon Hill inspired "Derelict" and the punk rock love song "Trainwreck". --Nine Times "It is always a pleasure to see a local band work hard and slowly-but-steadily improve to a point of reckoning. Mr * Pink is evidently such a band. Imagine a fast furious math-rock version of X minus John Doe's crooning. Leona supplies the angry, other worldly vocals that demand attention. Mr Pink's guitars slug it out while still keeping the songs tight. Even the percussion has a very distinctive feel, funky in spots without slowing things down". --Throttle Magazine "Lullaby vocals backed with edgy guitar riffs bring together a rollercoaster package that send the listener on a mountainous journey rarely achieved by seasoned performers, much less newcomers. The real thing that makes "fRONTIERMAN" so impressive is the simple fact that it's so damned fun. I get so tired of serious bands that think they must save the world through their music. You could hear the fun the B-52's, X and Blondie had while making fun music. Mr Pink is definitely no clone of any of these but that sense of a group really enjoying having a good time comes across on this recording". --Poor Richmond's Almanac "...punk rockers in cowboy boots, which is about right. Leona the lead singer has a wonderfully distinct voice that rolls perfectly with the sweating-in-a-frenzy folks behind the instruments". --GRIP "A word of caution for the uninitiated: Their sound is entirely addictive. Their styles and tastes run the gamut from punk to funk to pop to salsa. The rhythms are strong, catchy and strung together in innovative combinations. The lyrics are clever and sexy, and sung with an appealing attitude". --Punchline "This band has much talent. The bass player can bang the hell out of the congas, Leona sings like a woman possessed and Penny, the female guitar player, has a ballsy style. The music is a zingy blend of rock, punk, alternative and salsa that keeps you entertained for hours". --Richmond Music Journal "This group put the fun in punk, blending styles from salsa to grunge to pop with a feverish, funky intensity that can bring even the most jaded scenester to their feet". --The Richmond State "...diverse, energetic rockabilly punk..." --ORB Confidential The Musician's Trade Journal
