Tight, fast, pop, punk, twang. A super-charged sonic hurricane inspired by the raw power of the ocean in the throes of a tropical storm. Tormenta was inspired by the time the band spent living on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The tightknit community of locals who spend their lives there have cultivated an emotional and spiritual relationship with violent weather that is part of their very existence. When big storms threaten and the tourists scurry like scared rats, the locals throw hurricane parties. On the smaller, more isolated islands there are some people who have never left for the mainland even when the weatherman has threatened imminent doom. They'd rather have the ocean come and take them away than sacrifice their lives of peace and separation from the material world. |
