    Artist History
Call it garage rock, blues, pop lo-fi, psychedelic, whatever; bottom line is - J Horndog has something to say and rocks while doin’ it! J Horndog is the latest project from long-time musician and producer Jon Bilinski. J Horndog evolved in the spirit of Zappa,The Kinks, Bowie, T. Rex, and Lou Reed over a period of three years during which Jon spent night after dark countless night reworking and rewriting his little masterpieces in his own studio – Eye Of Stone, Trenton, NJ. The CD’s fourteen tracks all reflect the dark side of the human experience. Drunks, addicts, porn freaks, and gluttons are the lead characters on this one.

    Press Reviews
"Fans of Guided By Voices and Beck's mix 'n match of influences will be smitten with J. Horndog as he has recorded a wonderfully wacked out bit of 8 track music that never shys away from its over influences, which include early Bowie, Kinks, early/mid 70's Lou Reed, Zappa and lots of T. Rex strewn out. Very Highly Recommended!" - Not Lame Records, 2001 "It's as if Horndog can't decide if he wants to be Captain Beefheart or Marc Bolan so he decided he'd go right down the middle.... His eclecticism and skewed perspective also brings to mind Beck, albeit with much more subtle and subdued hip hop and soul influences. There's always something new floating out of the mix with every listen, and a nice trashy edge to the amalgam of pop, rock, blues, and everything else, not mention a wealth of barbed hooks, makes it a continual pleasure." - John F. Butland Toast Magazine 2000 "A wash of hurly-swirly guitar beds powered alongside no less than Dipsomaniac Tom O Grady's big thrashy drums, one Jon Bilinski has herein produced an album that honestly can stand safely alongside vintage T. Rex, "Everybody's In Showbiz"-y Kinks, and dare I proclaim it Exile Stones. Yep, like each of the aforementioned totems, all these fourteen tracks sound launched from the bare-boniest of riffery, yet still never ever fail to confound, contort, then ultimately embrace all that we all SHOULD ve already learned to love about rock of the six-string school. Yet nary, I must add, is a single boogie clich ever resorted to! And to make matters even finer, is it just me, or does a hint of Magic Band Beefheart erupt here and there as well? Whew!"
    Additional Info
Jon not only proves to be a gifted storyteller/songwriter, but he also plays a mean guitar. Just listen to the searing riffs on "Drug Hard Fiction" and "Mad Cow". Tom O’Grady from the Dipsomaniacs was recruited to help out on drums along with a revolving door of engineer assistants, back-up singers, keyboard players, and even rappers joining in.
