Artist History .Starting out in the New York club scene, sharing the same stage with some of the greatest rock acts of the early eighties is just some of the stories this team of musicians converse about, when talking in general about their youth and the old days when heavy hitters like Metallica were just starting out and when critics cringed at the sound of hard rock music. Survivors of that era one partnership of music would always share the same goal and dreams of doing things a little bit differently in the future of music. These two longtime friends would find themselves building catalogs of song material composing, and rehearsing them with bands and trying them out on and offstage to see what kind of impact they would have on different audiences. Achieving some recognition and attracting some fans they went on to release some of these songs on cassette distributing them to markets around the world. Looking for a place to fit in they landed some interest with a European management firm that had plans to blend some foreign musicians into the project with a tour to follow. Unsatisfied with certain details of the overseas arrangements and the possible chance of disruption of the original plan for the music with great pride the two musicians passed on the deal that was manufactured by this management firm.With the coming and going of the new grunge scene, a newer and better music was arriving and it was time for R. Stapleton & I. Gold to present the music that survived almost standing still in its timeless shell. A name was given to the musical project and that name deriving from all the shock waves of the new sound and the remaining backbone chronic beats of Rock and Roll stuck and became what is now known as Shock Chronic. The writing styles of Shock chronic consist of a simple collaboration. Story writer R. Stapleton and melody guru I. Gold. When these heads are put together in a room is where the magic of songwriting comes together as one. The topic of the story is discussed, once established an idea of the mood is created and usually the drums also played by R. Stapleton are laid to a track recorder. Whatever comes to mind according to the style of the beat is constructed including synthesizers, and guitars is capped Either with a presentation of vocal melodies created and sung by I. Gold or spoken word (the story of the song) usually preformed by R. Stapleton.The music is versatile in both genre and style, containing influences from a wide Varity of all music’s and genre’s, tempo's etc. Pouring out their hearts into the writing this group effortlessly has the capabilities of longevity in the fields of writing and producing records as well as the patience and stamina of a touring band. The duo has hard working skills in their trades and leadership and tolerance for all that is to come to them and make them a marketable product.
