Artist History
Core members first performed together at the WestOneFour in November 2002, leaving 200+ begging for more with a mixture of re-treated covers and a few hastily-written original songs! Deciding to get serious, they have spent the last year writing enough new songs to fill two albums, some premiered to ecstatic capacity crowds at the Betsey Trotwood, Farringdon in July 2003 and recently at the Water Rats Theatre, King's Cross October 25th. And NOW they return to WestOneFour Sunday December 14th for a Xmas gig! Don't miss it! |

They say you always save the best until last and Saturday night at the Water Rats bore witness to that. Despite strong sets from Curly Circus & C C Martin, Dagelfish stole the show with a blend of old, new and re-treated versions of their extensive portfolio of songs. 'Marriage Street' (an ode to that not so newly wedded lack of bliss) was given a new twist with a feisty duet courtesy of John Dagleish and backing singer Carolyne Locher. An uptempo version of 'Satellite' and a soulful rendition of 'Mister Parson's Tears' made full use of John's range of vocal talents without losing any of the impact of the original in the case of the former, while Tamlyn Martin's support vocals really lifted the latter. Steve's delivery of 'What if it Rains?' was as brilliant as ever. New numbers including Dale Hubbard's 'The Girl for Me' went down as well as the white wine (the pub ran out of the latter)! The theatre rocked with 140-strong crowd who (unlike many pub giggers) were there to listen & dance, rather than talk over the music. It's hard to describe Dagelfish's music to the uninitiated - from the poppy crowd pleaser 'I Will Always Be Here' to the sultry 'Rainbows', there is something for everyone. I have to mention the fab harmonica-playing of David Lopez. If you didn't catch Dagelfish in 2003 make a note to do so in 2004 - you won't be disappointed.

wot a fab night it was... suffice to say that it was rock and roll, rhythm and blues, funky and mellow, heart and soul .... and a great atmosphere of people.... young and old, groovin' and movin', jumpin' and swayin' and waving lighters in the air... soft rock is far too lame a category... its much too eclectic for that...... loads of love and roll on the next one!!!!
