    Artist History
In the mid-nineties, Shidoshi lent his talent to the local Columbus electronic group PANIK KONTROL, and after a brief collaboration, began to focus more on the Hip-Hop / Urban Culture ... seeking to educate himself in the ways of the Hip-Hop & Battle DJ. In 1999, Shidoshi met up with and began learning the Turntablist trade from renowned Columbus DJ: JOHNNY BLAZE. At the same time, Shidoshi began experimenting with loop-based music arrangement software and produced countless tracks for local DJs to use in their club mixes. In 2000, Shidoshi established DEVIANT SEX LABS PRODUCTIONS and began representing electronic musicians, DJs/Turntablists and Urban Artists. Steadily working to develop a reputation for his new production label around the Columbus area, Shidoshi spent the next couple of years DJing and performing at numerous raves, house parties and events - most of which were arranged and hosted by DSL Productions. In 2002, Shidoshis original electronic piece SEVEN VEILS was accepted to appear on the soundtrack for an underground film still currently under production in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In response to an online-posting collaboration offer, Shidoshi was approached by LIVID in July of 2002 and soon appeared to audition for the band. After a couple of live performances, Shidoshi became the newest addition to the band. The greatest part about DJing for a band - says Shidoshi - is when you find yourself in that rare situation where you are working among talented musicians who keep you focused on the collaborative effort of the entire band, yet trust in you enough to give you the freedom to stand out and have what you bring to the collaboration recognized. I think I have found that in LIVID and I feel very lucky to have been given the opportunity to join up with them. As for the future, Shidoshi plans to continue his work with DSL productions and is even planning the initial concept for the DSL sister company: IRON HALO PRODUCTIONS which will represent skateboarders, bikers, surfers, snowboarders and inline stunt skaters among others. Shidoshi plans to maintain his position behind the decks for all upcoming raves and will be beginning his tour with LIVID this summer of 2003. He is currently working on his first electronic music/Turntablism hybrid EP (LEFT LANE ENDS) that is scheduled for release in December of 2003. As for his continued plans with LIVID? I dont plan on going anywhere anytime soon. I love what I do with these guys and I often find myself just watching them do their thing and getting all into it and essentially forgetting that Im even a part of it all! They are amazing musicians ... each one of them ... and I would be foolish to walk away from what they are teaching me about my own style and about the industry in general. I plan on being with LIVID as long as my contributions are appreciated. I plan on using that time to develop myself ... not just on the decks, but as a whole person. Shidoshi has had a deep adoration for Japanese culture since he began practicing martial arts in the late 80s. He has visited Japan ... spending time in areas such as Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Hong Kong, Taipei and the island of Miyajima. His name itself is actually Japanese for MASTER/TEACHER & is used primarily in reference to martial arts ranking. His main interests in Japanese culture these days usually encompasses Japanese Anime films and the occasional Sake drinking binge at one of his many favorite local sushi bars!
