She had a waterfall and a canyon in her backyard that her husband gave her. *** Picture a beautiful young woman with long blonde hair, serious blue eyes, bluejeans, tennis shoes, & a 12 string guitar. Artist History The story described in Chapelgate, is Angel's real life story. For several years her private home was an estate she named Chapelgate. Chapelgate had a registered forest, canyons, waterfalls, and ancient pioneer buildings, including a two hundred year old grist mill and a huge Lodge mansion set up high on a cliff, overlooking it all. She used Chapelgate for Contemporary Christian Music recording artists, including the young Amy Grant, who made her GMA Dove award winning music video "Lead Me On," at Angel's waterfall. Today Chapelgate is a corporate retreat and a bed and breakfast named Evins Mill. It is located in Smithville, Tennessee, about an hour east of Nashville off I40, on the way to Knoxville, just before Cookeville, south on Highway 56 & east a couple of miles to Evins Mill Road on Highway 70, just a little ways east of Smithville. On Evins Mill road it is about 3 miles south from the turn off at Highway 70. Evins Mill remains known as Chapelgate to Angel who owned it and loved it and is the setting for her books and songs. ***** Angel's late husband, Robin Isaacs, was the first person to use a computer to monitor the drilling of oilwells and spent his lifetime developing the leading computer monitoring system and technology for drilling oilwells, utilizing satellite networking, technology that was the foundation for the entire oil industries' computer related drilling techniques. Robin's technology is used worldwide, today, by all the top oil corporations, especially Exxon-Mobil. Robin and Angel lived at Chapelgate while he developed a major portion of this technology. After his death Angel spent years in Federal court fighting these major oil companies over their intellectual property rights, culminating in a billion dollar lawsuit. As a result Angel lost everything she owned, including Chapelgate. During this entire period of her life, she was trying to live her life for God. She wrote her songs and stories along the way as these events were happening to her. After it was over she then delved into the scriptures, building on her previous study. With a BA in Mass Communication from Abilene Christian University,and a Masters Degree in Religion from David Lipscomb University she then studied the ancient languages of the Bible to an unbelievable depth. For in trying to understand what God had allowed to happen to her she poured herself into a 10,000 hour study of an ancient dead language, Biblical Hebrew, the language of the scriptures that Jesus knew. As she studied she kept writing her songs and stories and fine-tuning her works until today she has created a unique masterpiece, she calls The Chapelgate Adventure Series. By offering her insight through her works Angel hopes to allow other Christians the advantage of her insight, gained from walking with God through both the heights of prosperity and the depths of loss and despair, with a foundation of awe-inspiring devotion to understanding and applying the ancient scriptures of the original Bible. Her songs and stories capture her emotional insight and experiences, and her walk with God through the Daytime and through the Nighttime. ***** Angel's final insight, after this experience, is that God is a master architect, capable of creating a spiritual tapestry from a person's life and the final setting of his work of art is to make the person humble, set low and in circumstances that will keep the heart from pride and depending on their own strength. It is his grace and mercy and power that are his children's strength, not their own. Angel says...As hard as I tried to follow God and understand him and Christianity I must humbly state that I failed. My Father has made me the least in the Kingdom of God...and has surely set me in a safe land. It was not my goodness, wisdom or faith that led me and gave me this story to share. It was instead in spite of all my efforts that God calmed me and comforted me and made me understand that I don't have to be perfect or a leader. In fact, God choose not to let me be perfect as much as I would like to be. He wasn't drawing that picture.
