Artist History
Born in 1956 KAZZ started recording in 1982. Between 1984 and 1987 he wrote over 4 hours of music based upon Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings, which was released on cassettes only. In 1998 he released his first CD Trancedancer (a 2CD as a private release, in 1999 a single CD version was released in Germany). KAZZ also recorded a track called Frank's Tango for the worldwide released (but now deleted) CD A Tribute To Klaus Schulze. As it was the alternative version that appeared on this CD, the original version was never released. Find it exclusively on this site soon. 2000 saw the release of Willingen, which is also the name of the German village where it was recorded. KAZZ plays quite a lot in German clubs, but he also enjoys doing private home gigs. Live recordings from these living room concerts can be heard on his third CD Encores@home.de. A second live-CD, entitled Metropole Disease, was released in september 2002, which features a 50 minutes dance set, featuring a mix of old and new tunes, most of them pretty short in length. This CD is only availabe my mailorder in a limited edition (250 copies only).
Besides his electronic career KAZZ also played and sang in various Dutch rock bands (Eternal Flame, pH Factor, Grail).
On November 1 KAZZ released a 4CD set called MONOLOGUE INTERIEUR. It is his first studio release since WILLINGEN. The set contains almost five hours of new material. As usual KAZZ goes through a lot of musical styles, even more than on previous releases. Influences from the old Berlin School are still apparent but there is a lot more. CD1 and 2 are pretty traditional electronics, but here and there you will find hardrock- and funk-elements (Booker T) you would not expect on a KAZZ-record. CD3 is very special. In four parts there is a composition called Monologue Interieur 5. It is a piece of music, which is based on long chords of strings. It is an interesting experiment featuring the Electrophonic Orchestra, which has no predecessor. CD 4 has a 40 minute hidden track. KAZZ has played this track over the years as one of the encores. It is a remake of a classic electronic song, which was released in 1978. To mark its 25th anniversary (and on request from a lot of people) KAZZ has decided to make a mix of the various live performances of the track and include it in this 4CD Set. Ah, you want to know, what song it is. Well, here are a few hints: it has to do with a classic poem, and it was recorded by someone with the same name as the poet. As it happens, the original album has just been rereleased in Europe. HOW TO ORDER THE SET: Monologue Interieur is only available by email. The price is a sensation. In Europe the price is only 20 Euro including p&p. Outside Europe the price is 25 dollars. The set will be released as a limited numbered edition. Only 500 copies will be pressed.
