Artist description
KURB – FASHIONABLY INDEPENDENT SINCE 1998 -
Kurb does not deliberately avoid the spot light, it is just that we suck at promoting ourselves (as this lame-ass bio will no doubt show). What we are good at, is cranking out great songs, and performing them in a way that will make you want to hold your pee till the end of the show. Our music is not really pop, not quite rock, and not exactly punk, but borrows the best ingredients of all three. Our hooks are more subtle then those of your typical squeaky pop tune, but once they take hold, you will have to have them surgically removed. In true Canadian fashion, we believe that a complete lack of image, can actually be an image in and of itself (insert tongue in cheek here) and that passion, integrity and originality should define the threshold of success and not U.S. record sales.

Artist History
OUR humble BEGINNINGS
Back in the late 1980s two out of three of Kurbs members played together in a band named five foot nothing that opened up for acts like 7 Seconds, All, and the Lemonheads despite not being old enough to legally be in the clubs. All three of Kurbs present members more recently played together in a group called, Running with Scissors, who were featured on the 1996 New Rock Search CD, appeared in the 1997 North by North East festival, did a spot on City's Breakfast Television, and opened for bands such as Treble Charger, Weeping Tile, and Lowest of the Low's Steven Stanley. Originally a four-piece, Running with Scissors lost member Clark Harrop to law school in 1998. After a few unsuccessful auditions, we began to unconsciously adapt to our new composition. So, if almost by accident, we had found ourselves! The sounds and power that came out of our new relationship were so different that we decided it warranted a new name… and Kurb was born.

Press Reviews
SMALL BUT MIGHTY - Ann Rohmer - Breakfast Television host
Kurb members Jay Vincent, Mark Lepper, and Fadi Alfar, can produce a whole whack of noise and energy for just three guys from the T.O. suburbs. Being small means that Kurb (and our egos) can fit easily into any size venue, from a stadium to a Halloween party in your basement (our specialty is all-ages warehouses, and Legions although we have enough wattage and presence to fill your local hockey arena).
