    Artist History
    Debra Richtmeyer has performed as saxophone soloist in the United States, Canada, England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Mexico, and she was a medal winner in the 1978 World Saxophone Competition in Gap, France. Previously, she taught at the University of North Texas and the Lawrence University Conservatory in Wisconsin. She has performed as featured soloist with the United States Navy Band, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Knoxville Symphony, Dallas Wind Symphony, and the Zlin Martinu Czech Republic Orchestra, and she has recorded with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the Dallas Wind Symphony in seven CDs. Richtmeyer has been an invited soloist at six World Saxophone Conferences and was the first woman to be a featured soloist with orchestra at a World Saxophone Conference. She and has performed in big bands with numerous entertainers, including Natalie Cole, Sammy Davis Jr., Seals and Crofts, and Bob Hope. Richtmeyer recently released a solo CD for Mark Records, including six compositions written for her by international award-winning composers. Her students have won awards nationally and internationally and hold performing and teaching positions in military bands, jazz bands, universities and high schools in the United States and Canada. Richtmeyer is a former Vice-President of the North American Saxophone Alliance and serves as an artist/clinician for the Selmer Corporation.
