Artist History
Formed in 1995 by ex-Sourbelly bassist George "Gee Gee" Bradley and drummer Jimmy Magnuson, a handful of line-up changes lead to guitarist/vocalist Steven Gullett joining the band and Love Lies Bleeding was born. Love Lies Bleeding released one full-length album ("Under the Gloss") and a split-single with Nostromo (both of which are now out-of-print). The band toured the midwest relentlessly for nearly a year. The group disbanded in Detroit, MI in the summer of '96 while on tour with Jeff Dahl and the Trash Brats. After the break-up, Love Lies Bleeding played one final show in Fort Wayne, IN opening for the Undead (ex-Misfits) with Bradley on lead vocals and the Story Changes' Mark McMillion filling-in on guitar. Magnuson now plays for the metal band Rune, Bradley now plays in the Story Changes and Gullett plays in Star Heartless. Check out the links section for more on the former members of Love Lies Bleeding's current projects. |

Press Reviews
"Love Lies Bleeding wasn't together very long but the glam-punk trio managed to make some people take notice during its existence. The band released a slit cassette with Nostromo on the Psionic label and a 10-song cassette, "Under the Gloss," within days of each other. Things were looking bright when suddenly everything fell apart. Within weeks, Love Lies Bleeding had called it quits amid rumors of fistfights and missing eye shadow. Singer/guitarist Steven Gullett has formed a new band, Hanging Party, for one show only. You can see Gullett and friends at Canal Street later this month opening up for Too Much Joy and the Jezebelles. Look for bassist George Bradley and drummer Jimmy Magnuson to continue on in some altered form." -Don Thrasher, Dayton Voice |
