Addressing topics of a dark, erotic, spiritual & occult in nature. dealing with archtypes such as the vampyre, various mythic and literary concepts the songs reflect a deep desire for enlightenment and esoteric knowledge. Tristan has sought to prove himself to the world and find others with whom he can share his darkest dreams and concepts. Tristan has been studying and playing guitar for 15 years and recording soundscapes such as these you hear here for 10 years. Artist History Coffin For Mary was began in 1994 as a industrial metal project in the midst of a grunge rock dominated music scene, with a need to create something which encomapassed the traditions of metal and dark cutting edge sounds of gothic and industrial music. over the past 10 years many emerging metal sounds influenced the ever evolving sound of the project such as Black metal and Gothic Metal, after the emergence of such genres Coffin For Mary finally had a real place in the music world, The sound was defined and an audience manifested in every part of the world. It has now evolved to reflect the spiritual,emotional and musical growth of its creator "Tristan" as the vision was realized through much hard work. Coffin for mary has reached as high as number 2 on the black metal mp3.com charts and the top 15 of the heavy metal and gothic metal charts with no distribuion deals or record label support whatsoever, Coffin for mary simply relies on a loyal fanbase which the band seeks to expand on a very personal level. In 2002 Coffin entered the studio to record the most successful cd yet featuring the songs "She walks the Night" "Sanguin Dreams" and the fan favorite "Thorn to my heart". The amazing thing thing is there is only one member on the band and his name is r. triscan (sorry man if i spelled it wrong...) he does everything guitar,vocals,bass,etc. He has a creative mind and free casting sprit and deserves more credit as he already does. On the album haunt features a variety of muscial styles. old and new gothic styles are feature on the album. metal styles adds the flavor to harcore album that is one of my personal favorites. coffin for mary has earned my respect in the music business.
