Artist description
I am a solo Bassist and looper. Although some of my other work is electronic in sound and texture, as a solo bassist I choose to feature the more organic sound of the Acoustic Bass Guitar.
A great deal of my work is in the realm of "devised improvisation"; improvised works based upon composed themes and outlines.
In this scope, many of my pieces derive from various, often divergent, ethnic elements which are fused to create a new musical bed.
To augment the limitations of playing solo 4 string bass guitar, I use both a Lexicon JamMan and Line 6 DL4 Digital Looping Devices
to create textures, harmonies and rhythm parts to accompany my solo playing. These loops are created live, on the fly as you will,
and often played via footswitches as instruments themselves: not merely static and repetitve loops of sound, but interactive parts
which are triggered in tandem with real-time performance. |
