Artist History
Since their introduction to the Boston music scene
in the fall of 1993, Adam Dewey and Crazy Creek have
been playing their own brand of traditional and
contemporary bluegrass music. Combining the influences
of bluegrass mainstays such as Bill Monroe, the Stanley
Brothers and Boston's own Joe Val with their own
musical sensibilities, they have developed a
sound that pays homage to tradition, breaks
new ground, and is, without doubt, their own.
Nowhere is this deep-grooved sound more evident
than on their self-titled recording that was
released in April of 1999. And, with recent appearances
at First Night Boston, several festivals in the
Northeast, and a prize-winning performance in the
band contest of the 1997 Winterhawk Bluegrass Festival,
they have developed a growing reputation as one of the top
bluegrass outfits in the New England area.
