    Artist description
Justin Rosolino is a celebrated singer/songwriter and acoustic guitarist with a vocal style that instantly commands attention. Take the earnest and reflective lyrics found in folk, add the passion of rock and roll and sprinkle in a little soul a la Marvin e - that's the basic recipe for Justin's music. His lyrics have grown out of his emotional and spiritual journey, and his voice is intense with his convictions. Justin's vocals have an angelic quality, but they're also powerful with a bluesy funk edge and a seemingly endless range. He transforms effortlessly from a breathy baritone to a stunning soprano, all within one song. And his guitar work is bold and experimental, yet memorably melodic. Justin fuses an assortment of styles in his unique approach to the guitar, using a variety of alternate tunings and multi-capo techniques. Most importantly, Justin's songs are deeply moving and highly musical, yet always accessible and entertaining.

    Artist History
Justin Rosolino started playing guitar when he was just six years old, which in a family like his, seemed the natural thing to do. His father was a professional R&B singer and guitarist, and Justin grew up watching his band jam in the basement. They had shows at venues like the Apollo Theatre and the Cotton Club in New York City, and toured with the likes of Joe Walsh and Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels. So it wasn't a big surprise when Justin was already strapping on an electric guitar and sitting in with his father's band at local clubs by the time he was twelve. In High School Justin kept on going, learning any song he could off the radio or vinyl. He also began writing, and at 17 he won his first regional songwriting competition. Justin's musical interests continued to broaden and flourish into his college years, and in 1991 he left New York for Charlottesville, Virginia. At the University of Virginia he put down his electric guitar to front Southern Exposure, an acoustic duo that soon became a local mainstay. Within their first years of performing, the folk/rock pair were jamming sell-out crowds into local venues and playing with prominent regional acts like SGGL and Jackopierce. They were later voted in as one of the top ten bands in the area, sharing the honor with groups like the Dave Matthews Band. It was then that Justin discovered his love and gift for finger-style guitar and alternate tunings. While in Virginia, Justin was also involved in a number of side projects, including an R&B cover band, a 250 person gospel choir and two nationally renowned a cappella groups. He graduated in '95 with a degree in Political and Social Thought and briefly considered graduate school, but his love for playing music never left him.Moving to Atlanta at the end of 1996, Justin quickly established himself in the Atlanta acoustic scene. Before he'd even found a place to live he'd already won his first songwriting/performance competition at the nationally renowned venue Eddie's Attic. Since then he's been a regular at Eddie's and at other Atlanta venues, consistently receiving praise in music contests and on live radio shows. He continuously performs in clubs and festivals around Georgia and up and down the East Coast, from Maine to Florida and everywhere in-between.
