Artist History Lorna is an 18-year old female acoustic rock singer/songwriter/guitarist based in Florida. Born and raised in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida (part of the Tampa Bay area), Lorna is currently a freshman English major at Flagler college in St. Augustine, Florida. Lorna has been playing professionally since the age of 13, when she started as the drummer of the local St. Petersburg Christian band, Cross Eyed. Lorna moved from the drummer's seat to the front of the stage over a period of time, as she began singing with the band, starting with just one song per show. Lorna's stage presence and personality were a huge hit with audiences from the very start, and it was only a matter of time before she became the front person of the band. As Lorna assumed artistic direction, she began introducing her own unique spins on popular cover tunes, ranging from Rolling Stones to Sheryl Crow, and she began performing more and more of her own original songs. This enabled the band to move into community, business, and other professional venues. When the band disbanded in November of 2000, Lorna had the experience and confidence to set out on her own as a solo artist. She is now an accomplished singer/songwriter/guitarist, with a wide appeal to audiences of all ages, and with the adaptability to play a great variety of venues. Lorna's hosts and audiences are truly impressed with her level of professionalism, both in her performance, and in the way she conducts herself on and off the stage. Lorna's career aspiration is to take her talent as far as it will get her, but she is quick to add that she wants to be who she is, not someone else. In her words, "I want to do what I do, but if I have to do what I don't want to do to get there, then I don't want to do it" (or something like that). Or put another way "I want to do this, but I don't have to do this".
