is enhanced by the frequent appearance of Paula Jo's
15 year old daughter, Amanda, who is featured on the
song, The Beat of The American Heart. This song was
written by Paula Jo as a tribute to our great country after

Artist History
Paula Jo is the daughter of country music legend, Joe Taylor.
Her dad entertained throughout the Midwest with his popular
band, The Red Birds, for more than 50 years, leaving her a
LEGACY to continue his respected tradition in the music scene.
Along with her brother Dan, she and the Legacy band have
become a favorite throughout the area. The group features
the 5 string banjo picking and vocals of Dean Crum; Dale
Dodson on bass guitar and vocals; Arnie Gambrel on steel
guitar and vocals; Dan Taylor on drums and vocals; and the
Midwest's best female lead guitarist Paula Jo Taylor, whose
vocals and high energy fiddle playing, add spirited versatility
to the group.
Dean Crum is an excellent banjo player and adds to the band with his vocals and guitar
picking as well. Dean moved to Nashville shortly after college and found himself
playing top sessions there. He was employed by the Country Music Hall of Fame in
Nashville for many years and performed with a number of well-known acts such as Riders
in the Sky, David Ball, Sam Bush, The Nashville Jug Band and too
many more to mention. At age 13 Dean and his little brother Don,
were a popular duo known as the Crum Brothers. They were
exceptional musicians for their age. So much so, that they
appeared on the Jimmy Dean Show which aired weekly on the ABC
Network. Dean spent a summer as a staff musician at Kings
Island Amusement Park and traveled the Midwest with a group
called Iron Horse.
Dale Dodson started playing bass guitar in his
early teens with his father, Horace Dodson and brother in middle
Tennessee. In the family band Dale developed his bass playing
and a special close harmony vocal style. As their skills matured,
the brothers branched out as the Dodson Brother band. Dale later
decided to further his artistry and popularity by joining Paula Jo
Taylor and Legacy. Dale has a strong, modern country vocal style
that is flavored with a traditional country ballad sound. This,
coupled with his excellent bass playing provide a good foundation
for the band.
Arnie is a veteran country musician Growing up in
southeastern Kentucky, he had strong influences from blue grass,
gospel, and country music. His smooth steel guitar sounds and
sweet southern sounding vocals add another dimension to this
versatile band.
Dan Taylor, Paula Jo's brother also has the deep country music roots
passed on in the legacy that their dad, Joe Taylor - the Nashville
Country Music Hall of Fame recognition award recipient started so
many years ago. Dan started performing at age five on stage
with his dad and Aunt Patty Corbett as well as making
appearances on his dad's weekly radio show. He then went
on to become a regular member and drummer of his dad's well
known band, Joe Taylor and the Red Birds as a teen. After
the retirement of the Red Birds, Dan joined his sister
Paula Jo and formed this unique and popular band,Legacy.
Legacy writes their own music which has become
very popular and is in great demand. Paula Jo Taylor is a writer
with ASCAP, Nashville and has had some of her songs recorded by
