Artist History
The Corvaris were formed in late '78 and performed in Colorado and California until 1980 before moving permantently to New York City. They were among (along with The Front, The Ravers, Johnny Three, and The Defex) the first "punk rock" bands in the Rocky Mountain state. Bassist Cormany was an original member of The Ravers, Gammage had played in the University of Colorado art/rock band Joey Vain and Scissors, and guitarist Syken was an original member of The Defex. The band's first show was the University of Colorado's Fine Art Department's Halloween Ball on 10/31/78. The band recorded several songs in '79 but until the release of DENVER SESSIONS '79 they were previously unavailable. |
