Artist description The artist is not the artist in this case. All I do is add words (and more infrequently provide words that musicians write to).

Music Style I bascially have no taste - no particular taste that is. Being drawn into other people's worlds has always been fascinating, and a learning experience.

Musical Influences The first LP I ever bought was Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture", a colourful romp that I don't listen to any more. Apart from that, I have always been caught by musicians' ability to twist and turn music into any shape and make it fun. So I went through periods where I collected obscure rockabilly, 20's stride jazz, Fred Astaire musicals and, more recently, dub and Techno-Dub (hey, no words).

Similar Artists God, the influences are so clear in some cases I don't dare mention them.

Artist History I started my accidental career writing words for a post-punk band in Brussels in the early 80s. This led on to writing with people such as La Muerte. I eventually got dragged more into pop, writing for 2 Unlimited with Peter Bauwens and Phil Wilde. In parallel, I worked with balladeer Perry Rose, one of the most melodic guys I've ever seen. More recently, Herman Martin (ex-Blurt) has been my sparring partner. If you think you have a hot tune with broad appeal, get in touch!

Instruments I'm painfully learning the piano. This week: Abba's "Winner Takes it All" (told you I had no taste).

Albums I've gotten roped into writing for a dozen bands already. The most regaular have been Perry Rose and 2 Unlimited.
