Michael Leahy: The Accidental Lyricist |
|
May 12 2003. I added "Touch Me" (below) to the CD "Living in Another World", still available for the same price. Check the song out below. I've also added some new tracks to the No Name station. You'll find it under "Stations Now Playing" (above).
May 2003. Two bits of news. Dutch singer Sylvia Samson has posted an extract of a song I wrote with Peter Bauwens on her website. She gigs quite a lot in Holland, if you're in the area. Also, a new performer joined us on underKurrent: 'Kola, a talented singer-songwriter. Click on the link below. If you have a good site, why not join us?
February 23, 2003. News from Holland: the latest album from Irishman Perry Rose, "Hocus Pocus", is now available. I'm happy to say that the first single is a track I co-wrote with Perry, "Glasgow". "In my head it is about Dublin, but Glasgow sounded better," according to Perry. You can find it by closing your eyes and saying Hocus Pocus. Another release: a co-write on the track "Party Girl" by Pop Machine (Universal)
Here's a link you might (conceivably) be interested in. I was quoted in the UK's Tipsheet magazine (question: do UK record labels pay enough attention to foreign charts?). Check the PDF file of issue 417over here. Another link: this interview dates from a few years ago, covering my days writing for 2 Unlimited. It was conducted by the prez of the unofficial fan club, Mike Delaney. Check it right here
Needless to say, not all the records I have contributed to are still in stock. But I have chosen a selection on Proxis, and added some comments. To see them, click right here

Neat demo for solo singer, in this case Perry Rose (thanks). He also supplied the guitar playing. |

"Don't look back, never learn how". Again Muzzy sang this blues ballad for us in his inimitable style. Perry Rose added the acoustic gtr that opens the track - thanks to them both. | MP3.com CD: Living in another world - buy it!

Blues ballad sung with rough vox. Muzzy Horn provided the vocals and tasteful gtr solo. | MP3.com CD: Living in another world - buy it!
