Artist description
trying to take music back to it's roots as "what is please to the ear". the best attitude, i find, to have in order to enjoy what i'm trying to accomplish is to disregard whatever you know about music and just ask yourself when listening "do i enjoy listening to these sounds?" (as horribly pretentious as that sounds...). i have a lot of trouble finishing songs on my own, unless they're one take improvs (which usually don't turn out that well), so more often than not, i'll be working with someone (which is why i'm not just calling myself "john hutchinson." rather, i look at "cosine" as a series of collaborations orchestrated by myself). hopefully, sometime in the near future i'll finish a few solo pieces that show my poppier, more traditional side. |
