Artist History
This Masque (actually, just Masque but for the race for names on M3.com), was a short lived, but seminal goth rock band from Seattle, 1989-1992. During this time, Masque was one of the best known goth acts in Seattle playing alongside the likes of Faith and Disease, Sky Cries Mary, Mary Throwing Stones, and Prayers for the Raven. Masque was well known for their heartfealt and explosive emotional tantrums on stage. Every show brought a sense of danger, from Brian's flailing and self flaggelating antics, Patrick's wars with stage equipment and tearing strings off his guitar, and Ken's bass, which would occasionally be hurled at the audience. Each show was emotionally raw and unpredictable. Unfortunately, raw emotions led to the band being split apart: betrayal by contemporaries in the scene, and webs of lies spewed from the mouths of talentless sycophants. Still, the incindiary spirit that was Masque lives on. Brian has since played with Black Atmosphere and is the master of his own project, both his solo compilation submissions and his project The Blue Hour. Patrick has relocated to the dark city of sin, New York, where he continues to wreak sonic terrorism on the masses with the likes of Figurehead, Dreams to Dust, and The Nexus Project. Ken has disappeared. |
