Artist History The origins of chalice stem back to the latter part of 1996 when present drummer Adrian contacted vocalist Shiralee after seeing an ad in a music store in the city. During 1997 a 3 song demo was recorded and released later in the year. Sean had been recommended to Adrian and Shiralee and Mark was a long time friend, who was a natural choice for the position. Shiralee had placed ads in Adelaide University for violinists to audition, but it was the young flautist Alana, willing to try out, that captured Shiralee and the band's ears.
