Artist History
Sean Folsom began as a formally trained musician about thirty years ago, but soon became aware that the music and instruments dear to him required something beyond what was then available academically. He started to seek out nearly forgotten early musical instruments - in particular bagpipes - and their music. Today, Sean's collection of functioning bagpipes (many restored by him) is, we think, the largest in the world. He has performed at festivals, concerts, museums, universities and elswhere for 30 years. He has played on recordings and film soundtracks. A complete list of his credits (and much more) can be found on Oliver Seeler's web site "The Universe of Bagpipes" at www.hotpipes.com. |
