Artist History
Darren & Doug formed Watts Gnu in the summer of 1989 in Cleveland, Ohio. They relocated to Boston in 1991. Big accomplishments include: finalist in the Spin Magazine/Pizza Hut "New Sounds for Original Music" Competition, finalists in Boston's "Acoustic underground" Competition.
Watts Gnu performed at colleges, clubs ad festivals throught the east coast and midwest, and even showcased several times in LA. They received airplay on the nationally syndicated "Wave" radio format, based out of LA.
Watts Gnu split up in 1997, but still has had rare gig opportunities, Including several opening performances for Hernan Romero (Al DiMeola guitarist) in NYC in 1998. |
