Artist History
Once, long ago, Henry and the Brain, both members of the band ‘Inertia,’ decided to remain a song writing team, but forge ahead to biggerand better things. Thus ended Inertia. This was in the mid-summer of 1997. David Highway was the immediate reincarnation of that band. With just vocals and guitar, Henry and the Brain sought out a bass player anddrummer. Their first choice on bass was a guy named Dave Kittel, who was a year older than Henry and the Brain, but was a friend to both.Recruited originally on drums was former Inertia rhythm guitarist, Eric Moyer. However, Eric was not especially fond Dave or playing drums (hisoriginal instrument) and subsequently left. Eric was replaced by Cody Saums in the late summer of 1997, who was a year below Henry and the Brain in school, but still known fairly wellby them. Thus begins the original David Highway lineup of Henry, Brain, Dave, and Cody. This setup, however, was not meant to last forever. David Highway, in this incarnation, existed from the end of the summer of 1997 to aroundthe spring of 1998. Dave eventually left the band due to time constraints put on him by other factors in his life. The break was friendly and he left ongood terms. Immediately following Dave’s departure, David Highway recruited long time friend Ryan Beebe on bass. Ryan ("Beeb") had formerly played inthe band ‘Intolerance’ and who had appeared onstage with Inertia. This incarnation of DH was not meant to be either, eventually Cody grew wearyof the band’s set-list and took a break. During this time DH experienced little growth, however Henry, Brain, and Beeb continued to play together. The break with Cody was finalized with the incoming of new drummer Heath Folmsbee around the winter of 1998. Heath was also an oldfriend of the band, well known by all the current members. This is the current lineup of David Highway as of the spring of 1999: Henry, Brain, Beeb, and Heath. |
