Artist History
Riot Records was formed in 1994 with a new band called Teenage Riot, whose independant label, Rama Magish Records owned. Rama Magish later folded and Teenage Riot became Riot's. Working as hard as that band did, 6 albums in 1996, and the infamous Saliva Tour, the coming and going of drummers, even solo projects, why would Riot need another band. Teenage Riot's last big album came with 'Violent Apathy And The Passionate Kiss" which was an ode to the Smashing Pumpkins' 'Mellon Collie' album did well for a time. Riot later recruited Self-titled (a Teenage Riot satilite project that was then called Purple Penis) with Absolutely Green's Edward Chirico and Nathan DaSilva and Teenage Riot's James Halischak. They would later succeed Teenage Riot. New acts such as Rubber, who later had to change their name because of another band called Rubber, Playskool Prostitutes, and Trifixion later joined. Riot Records was well on it's way, with their promotional releases, Riot Records Tape Release Series. |
