Artist History As of 05.09.03: AKASH has ceased to exist anymore. AKASH was founded Valentine's Day, 1998 in Fetishes Boutique. This band was Legendary for featuring some of the best improvising muscians in the world including Calvin Weston from Ornette Coleman and James Blood Ullmer; Elliott Levin from GONG, Bill Laswell, Cecil Taylor, Josh Wink, Teddy Pendergrass; Charles Dusquesne from God Lives Underwater, Dee-Lite, FOR and Sugarsmack Daddy; Ed Wilcox of Temple of Bon Matin, Strapping Field Hands, Zonic Shockum, BULB Records. AKASH was also well known for adeptly fusing eclectic, genre crossing styles into a highly charged form of Electro-Organic-Improvised Performance Art & Darkly Drawn - Musical Storytelling. AKASH since its inception, had been a loose and revolving collective of Theatrical, Mythical-Storytellers & Performance Artists/Musicians/Writers with Producer-Multi-Instrumentalist, John Price being the only constant member. AKASH artfully fused eastern spirituality & religious philsophies concerning concepts of reincarnation into an evolving, erotic and humorus commentary upon relationships developed within the span of our own human condition. AKASH often spun epic tales which played out across Mutlitple Physical & MetaPhysical-Dimensions. AKASH existed to convey a positive and unique message of acceptance, love and humor in consideration and reverence toward the unconventional & freedom of expression.
