CROSSRHYTHMS ALBUM REVIEW: November / December Issue
"Strongly influenced by soul music prior to his salvation, Jazzis combines a spectrum of soul sounds with a strong Gospel message for "Contemplative Soul". Sophisticated beats, catchy tunes and a soul vibe that is intoxicating, this is smooth. The songs themselves are uncompromisingly Gospel so that even upbeat songs like "Dance To The Rhythm", "Just Won't Groove Me" and "Gonna Make You Dance" don't skimp on the dancey grooves but they also hit you with a straightahead message. Jazzis knows the joy of his salvation and he doesn't want you to miss out either. Then there are the slower numbers where Jazzis takes the opportunity to get all soulful. "What Kind of Love" contemplates the life changing love of Christ and "Walking Home" is a song of security in Christ. My favourite is probably the upbeat optimistic "I'm Gonna Make It". One thing is for sure, with a sweet soul voice, commitment to the message and the musical chops to back it all up, Jazzis is capable of becoming a major player on the gospel scene"
